A Chinese Diesel Heater With Bluetooth App & Auto On/Off Thermostat Function (like the Afterburner)

Hi everybody, we're back with another very quick diesel heater post. We know we have been posting a lot about diesel heaters recently but it is that time of year again and a lot has changed since last year.

Today we are covering a heater that didn't make it into our tried and tested post for the simple reason that we haven't tried and tested them yet. We have ordered one but it is still on its way to us as we speak. We have seen them in action though and they really do what they say they do. As we have had a lot of questions about heaters with this function in our diesel heater facebook group recently we thought we would go ahead a write the post anyway so you know there is an option out there without having to buy the heater and afterburner controller separately costing well over £200.

The heater in question is the HCALORY HC-A01

It is one of their previous units but with an upgraded controller with bluetooth so be careful when you are shopping for one and make sure you get the right model, there are other bluetooth models but only the upgraded version has the auto on/off function.

THERMOSTATIC AUTO ON/OFF FUNCTION

There are other Chinese Diesel Heaters on the market that have a bluetooth controller so you can control your heater from your phone like the Maxpeedingrods new models however this is the only one we have seen anywhere with the thermostatic auto on/off function.

Most other units turn down to the lowest possible power when the ambient temperature reaches the target temperature set on the controller. If you are heating a well insulated space this isn't great because you have set a temp that you will be comfortable at and once it reaches that temp the power only turns down so the area you are trying to keep a comfortable temp will just keep getting warmer and warmer until you turn the heater off or open some windows. The HCALORY HC-A01 actually turns completely off when it reaches temp and then doesn't turn back on until the ambient temp drops 2 degrees below what it is set to on the controller so the heat doesn't just keep rising. This is very good news!!

One thing we will say though is...

This is perfect for people running their heaters on 240v with a transformer or for people with huge battery banks in their vans however the start up and shut down processes that these heaters have to go through each time they start and stop uses a lot more power than just running them constantly and if you only have a small battery/battery bank the extra power these heaters will drain your battery much quicker than normal.

BLUETOOTH FUNCTION

Another great thing about these heaters is that they have bluetooth built into the new upgraded controller. So now you can control the heater from your phone as well as the controller and the remote supplied in the kit.

There isn't really anything you can do on app that you can't do with the remote however you can see a lot more. With the remote all you have is buttons to press and you have to guess if it did what you wanted it to do. With the app you can see that what you are doing is actually having the desired effect. You can also see the heater housing temp, ambient temp, target temp, power setting and a few other bits. This makes controlling your heater easier and you no longer have to walk to the heater to check that everything is set or working properly.
